The Problem
Almost all load falls between 08:00 and 17:00, but the welding bay draws hard and briefly — exactly the shape that trips an undersized inverter.
What We Built
Day-heavy sizing: a large 15 kW array with a lean 25 kWh bank held mainly for surge support, and a 20 kW inverter selected on surge rating rather than continuous.
The Result
The workshop runs the full day on solar with the bank acting as a buffer. Two years in, measured capacity fade on the bank is under 4%.
